Steyerl's art is often about the hidden, the buried and invisible to the eye. In 'How not to be seen' (bottom image) instructions are offered in how to disappear by going off-screen and offline by hiding in plain sight. As the announcer runs through all the possibilities notable mentions are: You can become invisible by being poor or undocumented, living in a gated community or a military zone or simply being a woman over 50.
